A third winner's bracelet for respected US professional player
Rep Porter (45) has claimed his third gold World Series of Poker winner's bracelet after taking down the $1,500 buy-in Razz event, emerging victorious from a field of 461 entries to pick up the $142,624 first-place prize.
Porter started final table action facing some heavy hitters in the international game, including Daniel Negreanu, David Benyamine and Shaun Deeb, but outlasted them all to triumph in a heads up against Belgian player and double bracelet holder Michael Gathy (27).
Porter started with a 3 to 1 chip advantage that enabled him to quickly and efficiently despatch the Belgian, who received a second placing prize of $88,146.
Porter's latest victory brings his career live tourney winnings to almost $3 million.
