Second World Poker Tour Title For Mermelstein

A good year for WPT titles for poker pro

In January this year poker pro Aaron Mermelstein won the World Poker Tour Winter Poker Open at the Borgata, and this week he made it two WPT titles in the same year by taking down the $3,500 buy-in WPT Maryland Live! for $250,222 and a seat at the WPT Championship later this year.
The event attracted a field of 337 entrants, many of them respected international players like WSOP main event past champ Greg Merson, who was final table chip leader but only managed a fourth placing finish.
Also seen taking his seat was Anthony Zinno, who finished 30th – just inside the 35-spot cash bubble.
Heads up, Mermelstein held a 3 to 1 chip advantage against Tom Wang, and it took just 20 hands to secure the victory, sending Wang home with a second placing pay check for $164,765.
Other final tables cashes were:
Andjelko Andrejevic $105,981
Greg Merson $78,449
Cate Hall $58,589
Ken Holmes $47,091
