Online poker giant has big plans for October
Pokerstars has big plans for its New Jersey operations this October, announcing that it will host the inaugural PokerStars Festival at Resorts Casino Hotel from October 29 to November 6.
The festival will comprise more than 50 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $5,000.
Announcing the move in a statement Thursday, Pokerstars communications chief Eric Hollreiser said:
"We are committed to growing the poker market in New Jersey, and part of this strategy is to help make New Jersey the poker hub of America in November."
The online poker giant boasts that over 155 billion hands have been dealt on its websites, and it intends to maintain momentum.
The October festival at Resorts will be attended by several of the company's professionally contracted players, including Jason Somerville, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Jason Mercier, Chris Moneymaker and Vanessa Selbst.
The tournaments will include $1,100 buy-in PokerStars Festival Main Event and $2,200 buy-in PokerStars Festival High Roller events.
Hollreiser revealed that the festival will also include a 'skills zone area', where poker fans can test their game prowess.
