India’s largest hotel chain have reached and agreement to buy the Las Vegas Hooters Casino and Hotel complex, which will see the casino and hotel rebranded as the OYO Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.
The deal to purchase to the 657 room hotel and casino is believed to be at a cost of $135 million and a full refit and refurbishment is planned, which is expected to be completed before the year is out.
OYO have teamed up with a US hospitality and investment firm in Highgate, to help them get the deal over the line for Hooters, with Highgate taking over the day to day management of the hotel. Nevada based Paragon Gaming will continue with the operation of the casino on the site.
The Chief Executive Office of OYO, Ritesh Agarwal, commenting on the deal, said: “We are excited to cater to a completely different audience segment and are certain that this will be the perfect start to OYO’s journey in Las Vegas.”
As well as India, OYO operates hotels across the world, with interests already in the United States across 60 cities, with the company claiming to have over 850,000 hotel rooms across the globe.
