William Hill’s US division have flexed their corporate muscles, with the announcement earlier this month that they have entered into an innovative partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
Monumental Sports & Entertainment own the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, and Washington Mystics and their partnership that they have entered into with William Hill will see according to William Hill, the introduction of a new era of sports betting in Washington D.C.
Once regulatory approval have been obtained, the partnership between both companies will see the creation of the first sports book at a U.S. professional sports venue, with the development of a William Hill Sports Book at Capital One Arena.
Speaking about the link up with William Hill, Ted Leonsis, chairman, founder, principal partner and Chief Executive Officer at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said: “Monumental is dedicated to bringing the latest technology and innovation into our arena and delivering extraordinary experiences to our fans.”
“We are excited to partner with William Hill, the industry leader in sports betting, to become the first professional sports arena in the U.S. to feature a sportsbook.”
Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of William Hill’s US division, Joe Asher, Chief Executive Officer at William Hill US, commented: “This sports book will be a flagship venue for the industry and will serve the sports fans of the Washington D.C. area unlike any other.”
