Nevada Gaming Control Board List Procedures needed to Re-Open Casinos

The Nevada Gaming Control Board, responsible for the licensing and regulation of all casinos that operate out of the state have announced the procedures that would have to be undertaken to facilitate re-opening the casinos that are based there.

This news comes on the back of the Wynn Resorts Chief Executive Officer, Matt Maddox, calling for the Governor of Nevada, Steve Sisolak, to consider re-opening the Las Vegas strip at some point next month.

Subsequently the Nevada Gaming Control Board have provided detailed steps and procedures that casinos must adhere to and undertaken once the current lockdown in place is lifted. This is also includes the establishments wishing to re-open to submit a re-opening plan to the NGCB at least seven days prior to doing so.

In a memo published on the Nevada Gaming Control Board site, which can be viewed here, Board Member, Terry Johnson, said: “These procedures are not intended to be all encompassing. Other steps may be necessary and should be determined on an individual basis, and in consultation with the Board, as necessary.”

The 18 point memo details requirements that establishments would have to meet, should they wish to re-open, once Governor Sisolak agrees to relax the current lockdown imposed on Nevada.

The NGCB have also requested that if there are any questions regarding reopening procedures, these may be directed to the Board’s Audit, Enforcement, Tax and License or Technology Divisions, as applicable.
