Overview

RTG (Real Time Gaming as they’re officially known as) is a popular online casino game developer that’s risen to become one of the world’s largest game developers, and they’re particularly favoured by US and Canadian players, as many of their games are available to those living in North America.

Founded back in 1996, Real Time Gaming are known for their diverse and creative range of games, and you’ll find everything from video slots and classic slots, to casino table games, video pokies, and instant win games.

Real Time Gaming are also known for their progressive jackpots, and a significant number of their video slots have progressive jackpots attached, often which are found to reach the million-dollar mark. These progressive jackpots make for appealing gameplay, and unlike many of the world’s biggest developers, many of RTG’s progressive jackpot games feature a ‘random jackpot’, which means you can be suprised on a random spin in the base-game to hit the jackpot!

Today, Real Time Gaming are beginning to branch out (meaning players that don’t live in the US or Canada are beginning to be able to enjoy the game developer’s games), and in this post we’re going to be taking a look at who the company are, how their games are built, and we’ll also cover some of their most popular slot releases, so let’s get straight to it!

Software Platform

RTG offer their games through both downloadable clients and flash-based browser play, although it’s worth noting that recently, the developer has taken away their focus from downloadable games, choosing instead, to focus more on instant play titles. While many of these continue to rely on Flash technology, some of their games have started to take advantage of HTML5, which allows for more flexibility when playing the games from mobile devices, such as cells and tablets.

Popular Games

RTG’s game portfolio is wide and varied, and includes games spanning multiple categories, including video slots, classic slots, casino table games, and video pokies. In the section below, we’re going to take a look at ten of the company’s most popular slots.

Cleopatra’s Gold: Cleopatra’s Gold is one of the oldest video slots in existence today, and this classic was built way back in 2005, and makes part of the “Real Series” – which features some of RTG’s most successful releases so far. The game is – as you can probably tell from the name – themed all around Ancient Egypt, and you’ll see a variety of Egyptian-themed symbols on the reels, including Ankh Keys, Scarab Beetles, and Sacred Cats. Naturally, Cleopatra is the game’s wild symbol – and if you manage to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you’ll trigger the lucrative free-spins feature!

Bubble Bubble: Bubble Bubble is one of Real Time Gaming’s newest slots (released first in 2016), and this Witch-themed slot boasts an impressive 50 paylines, spread across 5 reels. The game offers excitement in both the base-game and the main bonus round, and any time you land the Winnie The Witch symbol (which acts as a wild), winnings you make for that spin are multiplied by 3X, giving some decent win-potential. Land the Magic Cauldron scatter symbols to trigger the free-spins bonus, and start the round with up to 9 wilds added to the screen!

Enchanted Garden II: Enchanted Garden II is a follow-on slot from the hugely-successful “Enchanted Garden” slot that Real Time Gaming released back in 2006, and this 5-reel 25-payline slot combines great-looking graphics and music to deliver players an exciting and dynamic gameplay experience. The slot is also built using HTML5 technology, which allows it to be played from most cell phones and tablets.

Secret Symbol: Secret Symbol was released in 2017, and while it’s yet to achieve the same levels of commercial success like some of RTG’s slots, the game benefits from some pretty exciting progressive jackpot action – and you’ll find two jackpots in the game, including a Major jackpot and a Minor jackpot. Both jackpots are awarded randomly during the base-game – meaning you can win them on ANY spin – and there’s also an exciting bonus round to go alongside, too!

Fucanglong: Fucanglong was looked upon with slightly more intensity than normal when it was first released – and the reason for this was the fact that it was RTG’s first game to be launched in 2017. Thankfully, the slot turned out to be a successful one for the company, and this Chinese-themed game is quite intensely influenced by Ancient Chinese culture. (You’ll see this displayed on the reels in a number of ways.) Alongside great-looking gameplay, Fucanglong features some exciting bonus rounds too, so there’s always something worth playing!

Paydirt: Paydirt is one of RTG’s most popular slots, and it takes you back to the Gold Rush era, where you’ll join a number of prospectors as they do their best to uncover gold in the Wild Wild West! The game is packed full of exciting features, and you’ll find three in total; Gold Rush, Strike It Lucky, and Gold Fever. As with many of RTG’s slots, a progressive jackpot is offered – and the other bonuses include a free-spins round, where a near-unlimited re-trigger feature allows for uncapped winnings!

Diamond Dozen: Diamond Dozen is one of RTG’s most popular slots for good reason; it’s one of their only games to offer an RTP over 96% (it comes in at 96.51% to be exact), and the game is packed with exciting bonuses and features too, making for exhilarating gameplay. The Diamond Delight Feature is probably the one you’ll want to aim towards the most – although there is also a progressive jackpot feature which can be triggered randomly during the base-game, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for this, too!

Enchanted Garden: Enchanted Garden II is a slot that we’ve already mentioned in this post – but we felt that it was well-worth mentioning the original – Enchanted Garden slot – as the game’s packed full of exciting forest-related imagery and graphics. The game’s primary attraction is the Fairy wilds, as these can multiply your wins by up to 3X – and, like most of Real Time Gaming’s slots, there’s a lucrative free-spins feature on offer as well!

Outta This World: It’s a bold claim to make… and for a slot to be truly out of this world, there needs to be some pretty extraordinary features within the game. Thankfully, for Real Time Gaming’s reputation’s sake, Outta This World does fit the mold – and this unique game is set on a 5X3 grid layout, with 20 paylines. The main attraction of the game is the free-spins bonus (triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view), and here, you can win up to 25 free-spins, making it one of the more generous RTG slots in terms of the number of free-spins that can be won.

Food Fight: Food Fight may not be RTG’s most recognizable slot game, but – as you’ll soon see – it’s a game that offers a pretty exciting gameplay experience, and this is down to the Ice Scream Bonus, which is triggered by landing three parts of the Ice Cream Cone, anywhere in view on the reels. Once you trigger the feature you’ll get to choose 3 pieces of Pie, and these Pie pieces are then thrown at unsuspecting victims; each time you hit someone, you get an extra piece of pie to throw, and each time you hit someone, you’re also awarded a cash prize value!

Real Time Gaming’s portfolio of slots is impressive – and when you see how much creativity goes into their games, it’s not hard to see why they’ve become such a leading name in the online gambling world today. While we would like to see their progressive jackpots awarded in a non-random nature in some of their games, overall, it’s pretty hard to fault the game developer, and it’s clear they know a thing or two about what players want to see in an online video slot!
