Arkansas Businessman Pleads Guilty To Online Sports Betting Charge

Awaits sentencing on reportedly $7 million illegal gambling charge

Timothy Clower Bryant (36) of Fayetteville, Arkansas pleaded guilty this week in a US District Court to one count of operating an illegal gambling business which used a number of unidentified websites on the Internet.
The publication Arkansas Business reports that Bryant operated the illegal enterprise between January 2010 and December 2011, taking an estimated $7 million in wagers on college and professional football and basketball games.
Prosecutors said that Bryant paid one Albert Read (who also pleaded guilty) between 12 and 15 percent for using the gambling websites that Reed set up … a total of $832,000.
The court accepted the plea, but a sentencing date has yet to be decided.
