College Sports Association Restricts Daily Fantasy Sports Advertising

Ban supplemented by request for notification should NCAA referees or officials participate in contests

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has communicated with leading daily fantasy operators DraftKings and FanDuel advising the companies that they are barred from advertising during championship events.
ESPN reports that the restriction applies to television broadcasts as well, and was accompanied by a request that the two DFS companies notify the Association if any referees or officials have participated in fantasy sports contests.
Championship events include the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments.
A spokesman for the NCAA told ESPN that the Association's bylaws include a long-standing provision "…that states we will not accept advertising from sports wagering entities" during championship events.
