Rep. Justin Wood's House Bill 2278 seeks to legalise and regulate daily fantasy sports
Oklahoma lawmaker Rep. Justin Wood has launched House Bill 2278, the Oklahoma Fantasy League Act, to the state House, claiming that 500,000 state residents who are DFS fans require consumer protection.
Wood claims that DFS involves a significant amount of player skill and knowledge.
"The ones who win work at it. They study it; they have developed formulas and algorithms," he told legislators this week, saying that he hopes to ensure the genre's intrastate legality by defining daily fantasy sports as tests of skill.
His bill will also look to establish consumer protective regulations and requirements for operators offering DFS action in Oklahoma.
