Daily Fantasy Sports Bill Clears New Jersey Assembly Committee

Assemblyman Ralph Caputo is busy this week

New Jersey Assemblyman Ralph Caputo is having a busy week in the state Assembly, pushing legislation that compels land operators with online gambling sites to identify their involvement and do their bit in promoting Atlantic City and driving a daily fantasy sport legalisation measure.
Caputo chairs the Assembly's Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee, which on Thursday unanimously advanced his DFS proposal to the delight of market leading operator DraftKings.
Sarah Koch, assistant director of government affairs for the operator, told the publication North Jersey.com: "This is good for players and good for the industry."
Caputo's bill has the now familiar provisions against DFS operator employees taking part in competitions involving residents of New Jersey, along with underage and consumer protection elements.
The Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee also advanced a bill that would allow for parimutuel betting at the annual steeplechase races at Far Hills in October.
