Legalisation bill signed by Gov. John Carney lifts ban
Daily fantasy sports operators who withdrew from the Delaware market mid-2016 following “cease and desist” warnings from then state AG Matt Denn will be back this month following the state Legislature’s measure legalising the vertical.
Signed into law by Gov. John Carney earlier this month (see previous InfoPowa report) the measure allows DFS operations to recommence, albeit at a cost…the measure imposes a $50,000 annual fee and a tax rate on GGR from Delaware players of 15.5 percent.
The big three in DFS – FanDuel, DraftKings and Yahoo – are expected to be among the first to return to the market.
