Four New Legalisation Bills In The Michigan Senate (update)

Two of the new proposals are from Sen. Mike Kowall, who led the charge last year

Online gambling legalisation is again on the table in the Michigan Senate following the introduction of four new bills S202 to S205 this week, with two of them (S203 and S204) new efforts by Sen. Mike Kowall, who led the unsuccessful legalisation attempts last year.
The bills, which can be accessed here: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(w4vbekimw5l1vrl4c02pxtan))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=2017-SB-0202, do not disclose much detail thus far, but the Poker Players Alliance has reported that a hearing could take place as early as next week.
Michigan already has some online activity through its state lottery sales, and there is known to be solid support in the legislature for legalisation – Kowall already has five sponsors for his bills.
Generally speaking, legalisation is off to a racing start in the US this year; Michigan is the fifth state so far to start considering the possibilities following earlier filings in California, New Hampshire, New York and Pennsylvania.
