Online gambling, daily fantasy sports and sports betting on the agenda
The US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade has scheduled what could be a very important Congressional hearing next month, with online gambling, daily fantasy sports and sports betting on the agenda.
Scheduled for May 11, the hearing's objective is to examine the legality of the various verticals as requested last year by New Jersey Representative and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Frank Pallone.
Presumably the hearing will consider the various approaches to DFS and for that matter online gambling taken by different US states, and the growing voices raised in support of legalising the massive US sports betting action, currently rendered illegal in most states due to the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992.
