Gaming revenue for the State of Nevada increased for the third month in succession, with revenues being reported at $952.4m, an increase of 4% on this time last year. The third month on month increase, follows a period where gaming revenue for the state decreased for five consecutive months in a row.
2019 has pretty much started out to be a bad year for the state, showing a decline in revenue all round, but the turn around over the past three months, is now ensuring cautious optimism for the gaming sector is returning.
The month on month increase in revenue can also be attributed somewhat to an increase in tourism to Nevada, which the State is currently enjoying.
During the month of August, Sportsbook revenue grew 49% to $18.7m, while slot machine revenue decreased slightly, with figures of $615.5m being reported. The figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, once again make palatable reading for operators in the State, with hopes that the upward curve continues in the last few months of the year.
