Lawmaker Wants Online Gambling Websites To Tout Tourism For Atlantic City

House Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee advanced bill

Atlantic City lawmaker, Rep. Ralph Caputo, has reported progress on a bill he has introduced compelling Atlantic City land casino operators who also operate online gambling websites to do their bit in promoting Atlantic City as a tourist venue.
The Caputo bill would require operators to vigorously promote the area's attractions and the brick and mortar casinos on each gaming website under each website's licence issued by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The requirement appears to extend to the advertising such operators may undertake in promoting their online gambling interests.
In a statement Thursday, Caputo said:
"We should use every opportunity available to promote the casinos still standing and remind potential customers that there is still plenty to see and do in Atlantic City."
The bill would also task the DGE with monitoring every licensee's online gambling website and advertisements to ensure they comply with its provisions.
