Conservative action bodies are campaigning against HB676
Louisiana state Rep. Kirk Talbot's attempt to legalise intrastate fantasy sport gaming has already run into opposition from conservative action groups, among them the Louisiana Family Forum.
Flagging its opposition to Talbot's HB676, the Forum has asked its members and followers to protest the bill "in the interest of protecting Louisiana citizens from the addictive nature of online gambling and from criminal activity and especially in the interest of protecting Louisiana children."
Fellow state Rep. Joe Lopinto knows from his own experiences that persuading the Legislature to legalise any form of fantasy betting is a goal that is hard to achieve – he introduced a similar bill last year which video game action groups managed to derail in the state Senate.
