Massachusetts First US Regulator To Support All-In Diversity Project

To advance diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has become the first US regulator to support the industry-driven “All-In Diversity Project”, an initiative designed to benchmark diversity, equality and inclusion in the global gaming sector.

Joining as a participating partner, the MGC’s core values include the commitment to a diverse workforce and supplier base, and an inclusive culture internally and among its partners in the Massachusetts gaming industry.

The MGC’s diversity efforts focus on all stages of casino development; design, construction and operations. This is achieved through developing and implementing a series of tangible and innovative strategies to enhance diversity, including the formation of a highly successful “Access and Opportunity Committee” that routinely brings together stakeholders to focus on diverse hiring and contracting, reporting and metric analysis for each gaming licensee; the establishment of grant programs to provide funding to diverse local businesses and workforce development efforts; and the strong support of “Build A Life That Works”, a first-of-its-kind campaign to enhance the number of women in the union building trades.

MGC Director of Workforce, Supplier and Diversity Development Jill Griffin said, “The Commission is steadfast in its mission to ensure the gaming industry in Massachusetts is inclusive and provides opportunities that reflect the diversity of the Commonwealth.”

“MGC is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with our global partners on this important initiative to identify and share the gaming industry’s most promising practices to ensure economic benefit for all.”

Co-Founder of the All-In Diversity Project, Kelly Kehn added: “We launched the Project believing that collaboration amongst educators, regulators and operators was essential for change. I’m proud to say that we are taking another step forward with the MGC on board.”
