Nevada Gambling Numbers Slip In August

Double digit decline on the Las Vegas Strip

The Nevada Gaming Control Commission released its statistics for the month of August 2016 Thursday, reporting that statewide gaming revenue fell 5 percent year-on-year to $860.7 million, with the Las Vegas Strip turning in a poor performance with revenues down 15 percent at $451 million.
Table games, and especially baccarat, continued to struggle.
Sports betting fell back as well, with a year-on-year decline of 59 percent at $1.9 million
From the $861 million casino win in August, Nevada collected nearly $50 million in taxes, the regulator said.
