Issues related to daily fantasy sports, skill-based games, and the state's interactive gaming agreement to be considered
Nevada governor Brian Sandoval announced Friday that he is reconvening the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee to look into ongoing issues in the gaming industry, including daily fantasy sports, skill-based games, the state's interactive gaming agreement and other matters.
The 12 member committee is comprised of politicians, regulators, a tribal representative, stakeholders from the Nevada gaming community and members of the public, the Las Vegas Sun reports, noting that members will gather information and make recommendations for possible consideration by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission.
"Nevada has always been the epicenter for global gaming entertainment, regulation and innovation," Sandoval said. "The industry is constantly changing, as more states and countries enter into this increasingly competitive field, and I believe the changes we are witnessing demand the attention of Nevada's policy leaders."
The Las Vegas Sun notes that Sandoval last convened the committee in 2012 to provide suggestions on how to regulate interactive gaming.
