Good 2018 For Atlantic City
Third consecutive year of revenue growth
Atlantic City’s total gaming revenue increased almost 9.2 percent in 2018 compared to 2017 the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) reported Monday, marking the third consecutive year of revenue growth.
The Industry’s Total Gaming Revenue was $2.903 billion for 2018 (2017: $2.659 billion).
Casino Win was $2.511 billion, up 4.0 percent over 2017. Internet Gaming Win increased 21.6 percent to reach $298.7 million and Sports Wagering Gross Revenue was $94.0 million since inception on June 14, 2018.
“While the city had a good year, market adjustments from competition occurred and will continue into 2019,” James Plousis, chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission said in a press release. “The continuing strength of internet gaming plus a growing sports wagering market will provide the industry with tools to compete.”
GIG Granted Affiliate Vendor Registration In New Jersey
Authorised to send traffic to licensed casinos and sportsbooks
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has been granted affiliate vendor registration in New Jersey enabling the company to send traffic to regulated casinos and Sportsbooks in the state on a Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) basis, starting from Q1 2019.
GiG’s media services arm has, over the past 12 months, been building up portfolio assets to target the US and this is the first step towards monetising those websites and marketing channels. GiG will apply for registrations in other states as they open up for the opportunity.
GiG’s chief operations officer Richard Brown:
“We are excited to receive our vendor registration, enabling us to start referring traffic to the operators in this jurisdiction.
“It is an exciting opportunity for us, however we expect the state-by-state legalisation of sports betting to materialise at a slow rate.
“There is strong competition in the market, but we are confident we can replicate, in the US, the success we have achieved in the highly competitive European markets.”
