North Carolina has become the latest state in the US to legalize sports betting, with Governor Roy Cooper on Friday signing into law a bill which legalizes the practice of sports wagering in the state’s two tribal casinos.
In addition, the signing of the bill also allows betting on college sporting events from teams within the state, this is something that the likes of New Hampshire have not allowed, when legalizing and regulating sports betting.
The passing and signing of the bill means that Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, will now have the exclusive rights to offer sports betting in North Carolina.
As a result, North Carolina becomes the 17th US state to offer legalized sports betting to it’s residents.
