Pennsylvania Igaming Bill Introduced And Read On House Floor (update)

Just a week after House Gaming Oversight Committee clearance

Pennsylvania Bill HB649 was introduced and read to the House floor Tuesday following its approval by the House Gaming Oversight Committee last week (see previous InfoPowa reports).
The bill sponsored by Rep. John Payne, would legalise online gambling and allow existing Pennsylvanian bricks and mortar casino licensees the opportunity to apply for an online license at a cost of $5 million.
The bill is moving surprisingly quickly given its unexpected appearance on the Committee agenda last week after sitting on the sidelines since March.
"It is our hope that the legislation will be enacted on its own or as part of the state's 2016 budget by the end of this year," John Pappas of the Poker Players Alliance said last week.
