Power Up version of NLHE offers nine special powers
Online poker provider Pokerstars has set up a select US player group to put its latest new product through its paces in an Alpha test.
The new product, branded Power Up, is based on the NLHE game and gives players special powers, creating a game that offers a combination of traditional poker injected with special powers that give players the ability to influence how hands play out and change game play in a variety of ways.
Pokerstars spokesman Sam Woods said in a statement Wednesday that the new product is currently in the early stages of development, explaining:
"The select player group has been set up primarily to create player volume to assist with technical testing and feedback. More can be read about PokerStars Power Up in a PokerStars blog article written by Severin Rasset, Director of Poker Innovations & Operations at PokerStars."
Nine powers, including Clone, Disintegrate, Upgrade and X-Ray feature in the product.
