Reopening Plan Unveiled by MGM Resorts

MGM Resorts have unveiled their reopening plan of all their casino and hotel properties, including those in Las Vegas, as the company looks to get back to business, the gambling industry as with other industries have seen their operations cease to function during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

MGM Resorts now look to open their properties in June and will be adhering to a seven point safety plan in doing so. Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resort’s Acting Chief Executive Officer and President, when appearing on NBC’s Today Show, said: “If our counts stay reasonably low and things don’t escalate, we’ll be opening the casinos sometime late this month, first part of June.”

The seven point safety plan that MGM will be utilizing includes the use of safety masks by all employees, social distancing of all staff and customers as well as screening all employees, which will also include temperature checks.

MGM Resorts have already reopened one of their properties in Macau and plan to work alongside the Nevada authorities to develop a post pandemic strategy within the state.
