The state of West Virginia has seen a dramatic fall in revenue for the month of June based on the previous, reporting a drop of nearly 150% to $377,552. This coincides with a overall drop in bets placed from nearly $11m seen in May to $9.5m in the month of June.
The Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races remained in the top spot for generating most revenue in the State though, posting revenue in June of a little more than $200,000 from sports betting turnover of $5.4m
The cause of the drop in revenue is due in part to the fact that the State as of yet does not have a licensed online sportsbook for residents to use currently. Thus residents who wish to place a wager on sports have to visit one of the designated licensed casinos in the state.
