Sports betting in the state of Indiana has got underway and even the Governor, Eric Holcomb, has got in on the act of placing a bet, after making three separate bets at the Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville.
Holcolmb wagered $10 on the Colts to win the Super Bowl, $10 on the Pacers to be victorious in the NBA Championship and a further $10 on Indiana Fever to win Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.
Two other casinos in Indiana also started to accept sports bets on Sunday, with the Ameristar Casino in East Chicago and the Hollywood casino in Lawrenceburg joining Grand Racing & Casino in Shlbyville in accepting sports wagers in the state.
Later this month most of Indiana’s 13 state regulated casinos will also start accepting sports bets, with all set to to start taking bets on sports before the month is out.
