And almost a quarter of a million in prize money
Cash game grinder, Tyler Smith, has topped a record-breaking field of 3,186 to win $224,344 and his first World Series of Poker bracelet in Event 18, the $565 Pot-Limit Omaha re-entry event.
This is Smith’s second piece of WSOP-related jewelry, the first a WSOP Circuit ring he won 2008 in New Orleans.
Smith defeated Jason Stockfish in heads-up play.
“It feels amazing,” said Smith. “You know, when you enter these things and there are so many people, it’s a minefield, but they seem unwinnable to an extent. So, kind of every level that you go and you make it a little bit further. It’s like a surreal experience.”
