According to reports this week on ESPN the sports leagues Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association have been in amicable talks with daily fantasy sports market leaders FanDuel and DraftKings with a view to unloading their shares in the companies but retaining a “valued partner” relationship.
Explaining the NBA position, spokesman Mike Bass told the publication that the partnership with FanDuel has been productive but that “the space is evolving and we saw the need to take a fresh look at the structure of our relationship.”
