Virginia Senate Passes Gambling Expansion Bill

But still has a way to go

The Virginia State Senate has passed bill SB 1126 authorising voters to choose whether they want gambling expansion, or not, by way of a referendum.

The Senate voted 28-12 in favour of the bill, however, the measure would still need to be approved by the House of Delegates, receive the Governor’s signature and be voted for by Virginia voters.

Optimistically, should the bill progress, legalised gambling would only become available in the second half of 2020.
