William Hill have now taken control of all online sports betting activities of the land based casino group Golden Entertainment. Thus providing the UK betting giant with a foothold in Nevada.
The move will see William Hill being responsible for the operation of the sports books out of the Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas, Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin and a new sportsbook under construction at The STRAT (formerly the Stratosphere).
Joe Asher the CEO of William Hill US commented: “The addition of the four new casino resorts marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Golden Entertainment.”
The COO of Golden Entertainment, Steve Arcana said of the news: “We look forward to growing our business in Nevada and other jurisdictions through this partnership.”
Just last month the Nevada Gaming Commission approved the partnership between William Hill and Golden Entertainment. A move that will also see bettors being able to utilize Hill’s in play betting and also their dedicated mobile betting app.
In a Press Release issued by Golden Entertainment last week on 13th February, the company stated: “The agreement expands upon Golden Entertainment’s existing partnership with William Hill, which includes operating the race and sports books at Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Gambling Hall and full-service kiosks at Gold Town Casino, and Lakeside Casino & RV Park in Pahrump, as well as depositing kiosks at approximately 80 Golden Entertainment wholly-owned taverns and third-party-distributed gaming locations throughout Nevada. William Hill will also continue to operate the race and sports books at Edgewater and Colorado Belle casino resorts in Laughlin, following Golden Entertainment’s recent acquisition of the properties. “
Golden Entertainment owns ten casino resorts, with nine of them being located in Las Vegas and the other resort based in the state of Maryland. In addition to the resorts the company owns, Golden Entertainment also operate 6o pubs and taverns across Nevada, allowing their customers to take advantage of their betting facilities.
In 2017, the company purchased outright the iconic Stratosphere casino in Las Vegas for a princely sum of $850m and is currently in the process of revamping the property in a $140m refit. Once complete the casino will be known at The Strat Hotel, Casino and Sky Pod.
